阿撒茲勒ʿAzāzīl（希伯來文עֲזָאזֵל），又稱亞撒勒、阿撒澤爾，原意為「全部刪除」，在利未記中有多次提到，與贖罪日儀式有關，有一說是作為名字，有一說則是象徵荒野，另一說則是儀式中的替罪羊，還有象徵上帝之力的說法，後世則加上了邪惡、惡魔的元素，在偽經「以諾書」中描述成一個教導人類禁忌知識（製造武器與裝甲）的墮落天使；「地獄辭典」中記載為二階惡魔，山羊的守護者；「失樂園」的阿撒茲勒則記載為智天使的身高，皮膚帶著寶石與黃金的光澤，手持熾天使的武器與獎盃，屬於四種撒旦軍隊的標準士兵之一。
舊約聖經利未記第16章6至10小節記載
And Aaron shall offer his bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make an atonement for himself, and for his house.
And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat.
And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD's lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.
But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.
粗略翻譯：亞頓要獻祭他的公牛，為了自己與家庭贖罪，而他要獻祭兩隻山羊給上帝，在會眾的會幕門前，亞頓要施捨許多在兩隻山羊上，一隻獻給上帝，另一隻則為替罪羊，而亞頓要那羊帶到上帝前，給予他一個罪的供品，但那隻替罪羊要活著呈現在上帝面前，得以做出贖罪，並且讓牠作為替罪羊進入荒野。
附註：這個翻譯版本中沒有提到阿撒茲勒的名字，許多後世翻譯的版本中都把阿撒茲勒用替罪羊代替了，但最早的希伯來文確實有記載。
ʿAzāzīl，希伯來文是עֲזָאזֵל，其中有許多種翻譯，「地獄」、「該死的」、「全部刪除」，目前尚未有對於這詞的定論，許多英文轉譯版本將阿撒茲勒改成替罪羊，不過中文版本則又改回來了，目前對於阿撒茲勒有許多種解釋，一個說法為荒野的代名詞，也有作為名稱象徵神靈的名字，也有一說是因為替罪羊消除人們的罪惡，所以視為一種上帝的力量，而偽經以諾書第8章所寫到的墮天使中提到阿撒茲勒，並描述成教導人類製造刀、劍、盾牌、化妝等知識的墮天使，第10章則說到阿撒茲勒因為它所教導的不義，而被大天使拉斐爾束縛手腳並丟入黑暗之中，直到大審判的日子丟入火湖中，但除了偽經有對於其邪惡形象的記載外，正典聖經是沒有指稱阿撒茲勒為惡魔的。
